Bring on the birthdays

I'm reading "What Happy People Know" by Dan Baker. It's a great read and sheds such insight. What we know from the research is certainly consistent with what I have learned from working with many folks over the years, Happiness is a habit. Happiness does not come from things, money or outside sources. It's not even an emotion. The mood/emotions are feelings like courage, gratitude, joy, but Happiness is a way of "being" in life. Happiness is a habitual practice that is available to all that would embrace it. I intend to embrace it, hold on to it and keep digging in until it sticks to every cell in my body.
I feel proud and full of excitment about the next 20 years. I've got some work to do - always will. I'm one of those people that is always looking harder, digging deep within to explore the most helpful, healthy, peacful man, friend, fellow human I can possibly be. This is a good day. Bring on the birthdays!

Amazing Thailand

Amazing Thailand ~ truly one amazing trip for the last 5 days.

You hear a lot of things about Bangkok when you're travelling as it’s the place where most people start their exploration of Asia. Most of what I’d heard was negative, with the dirt and pollution coming top of the list.

However, for the 3rd time in this trip, I was glad I’d started in Vietnam, because frankly after that baptism of fire Bangkok was a walk in the park. Yes, you can smell the drains, and your eyes get sore from the smog. Yes, a cockroach crawled into my shorts in a bar (not a euphemism Dad), but all in all I found it a city of vibrance, of colours, smells, sounds and of enchanting character.
